Donald Trump's personal assistant has been fired amid an investigation into "serious financial crimes", according to USA media reports.

President Trump's longtime personal aide was unceremoniously escorted from the White House Monday and moved to a position at Trump's 2020 campaign - the latest in a series of rapid-fire personnel departures. He delivered messages to the president at the White House residence, carried markers for Trump to sign autographs, and, most recently, changed clocks at the White House to adjust for daylight saving time. Lost in the chaos of Rex Tillerson's unceremonious firing via Twitter today was a close Trump aide getting expelled from the White House "without being allowed to collect his belongings". The alleged crimes have not yet been revealed. Hicks' resignation plans were revealed a day after she testified to the House Intelligence Committee that she had to tell "white lies" while working for the Trump administration.

Mr McEntee was escorted from the White House on Wednesday (AEDT) after news broke the assistant had been denied security clearance.

White House aides were stunned when they learned of McEntee's sudden departure, two sources tell CNN.

The White House declined to comment.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news of his exit.

"We need the help of proven leaders such as Katrina and John to promote the President's growing portfolio of achievements across the country", Parscale added. McEntee's role was described as "body man", always staying by Trump's side.

The White House's revolving door for high-ranking staffers has grown so notorious that President Trump's staunchest allies can't defend the chaos.

Even without the report that McEntee is being investigated for financial crimes, this hiring makes zero sense. And it highlights the extent to which the re-election campaign has already become a landing pad for former Trump associates who have left the White House but remain loyal to the President.
