Cheers quickly turned to screams as the distressed horse tried to escape the noisy room at Mokai Lounge nightclub in South Beach.

A FURIOUS horse threw a scantily-clad dancer off its back as she attempted to ride it around the dance floor of a nightclub. "They brought a real horse in the club!"

A woman in her underwear arriving on a white horse at a packed nightclub - and being greeted by flashing cameras - didn't go over well with Miami Beach authorities.

"I was disgusted and offended that any legitimate businessperson would think this was an appropriate action to take", Morales told WPLG-TV.

Local 10 reported the video has been passed to Miami Beach Police Department.

Miami Beach Police said on Twitter Friday morning that they have launched a joint investigation with Miami Beach Code Enforcement. "This activity was not permitted, and as soon as we became aware, I immediately instructed staff to act swiftly in remedying this situation".

"Why in the world would have a live horse in your club????!"

On social media, one angry poster declared "shame on you Mokai, #AnimalCruelty". He said the incident constitutes animal abuse, and that the club "should be stripped of their license to operate".

"What kind of idiot would do something like to this to an animal?"

The owner of the horse and woman on the horse's back have yet to be identified.

"This is 2018, not Studio 54, and we know that horses are skittish animals who don't belong among the pounding music, shouting crowds, and flashing lights of a nightclub", People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said in a statement.
