Arsenal stun Milan with 2-0 San Siro success

The Gunners have lost four straight games in a row as the pressure continues to mount on Arsene Wenger.

Milan struggled to turn their possession into meaningful chances and they were punished again seconds before the interval, when Ramsey beat the offside trap to score his seventh goal of the season. Gino Gattuso was his usual emotional self on the touchline, kicking every ball for his team - and the manager certainly wouldn't have allowed such a low intensity performance in midfield if he was still playing for the Serie A giants.

Since arriving at the Emirates in 2013, Ozil has often been criticised for going missing in the big games, an argument which was used against the 29-year-old during back-to-back defeats against Manchester City.

In the fourth minute of first half added time, Aaron Ramsey made it 2-0 off a brilliant through pass from Mesut Ozil as he rounded Gianluigi Donnarumma before slotting into an empty net. "We have won a game, we are not qualified".

Ozil's exuberance on the pitch is always better placed when the players around him fulfil their tactical duties. The former Rangers man has this Milan team fighting for each other and Arsenal will have to rediscover their top form if they are to come away with a result.

Ozil has been directly involved in 100 goals in 189 appearances for Arsenal - 37 goals and 63 assists. The Italians had gone 10 games without losing between these defeats.

Arsenal earned their first win in the opening leg of a last-16 European tie since February 2011 (2-1 v Barcelona in the Champions League).

But the Arsenal boss also admitted that his team were a bit fortunate not to concede early, which could have led to a completely different game.
