Tiger Woods adds Valspar, Bay Hill to his pre-Masters schedule

Woods decided Friday to play in the Valspar Championship next week at Innisbrook, along with the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill the following week.

Innisbrook became part of the PGA Tour schedule in 2000.

It means Woods will now join Rory McIlroy who will also be contesting the Valspar Championship for a first time and in what will be McIlroy's sixth event ahead of the Masters.

So that's that. Golf fans want to see Tiger and that's why you'll see nearly every one of his shots in every tournament he plays whether he is in the lead or not.

Tiger Woods is adding another tournament as he tries to ready his game for the Masters.

After a 12th place finish at the Honda Classic, tons of bettors are putting money on Woods to win his fifth green jacket at Augusta National this April, and his odds have shot up to 16-to-1, according to Bovada.

Woods is still able to enter most PGA Tour events whenever he'd like to because he has a high ranking on the PGA Tour priority list. He missed the cut at Riviera, where he never won even at his best. That was the goal when I first came back. "And I think he needs to contend again and get into the hunt", said Chamblee."But it will surprise nobody if he's very close to the lead all through that tournament, the Masters". "And I feel like I'm right on track for that".

"I've been away from tournament golf for so long that I'm starting to feel the rounds", Woods said Sunday following the Honda Classic.

Other marquee names in the Valspar field include Jordan Spieth and Sergio Garcia, while one would-be alternate won't be around for the festivities.

He was, however, widely expected to be at Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he claimed eight of his 79 Tour victories.
