The Bachelor: Hometown visits with Arie Luyendyk Jr

Caroline, the hybrid real estate agent/model who we can't believe didn't even make it to the halfway mark of the season, had a little bit too much champagne before the "WTA" and gets super passionate in her Krystal shaming.

The college football world and "The Bachelor" franchise of reality shows have criss-crossed a few times over the years, including former Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers winning JoJo Fletcher's heart in "The Bachelorette", former Georgia Bulldog Josh Murray doing the same in Andi Dorfman's season and former Florida quarterback Jesse Palmer's full season as "The Bachelor". In many seasons' past, a contestant will drop the L-word and the Bachelor or Bachelorette will remain tongue-tied, gagged by a googly eyed smile and unable to confirm that he or she indeed feels the same way.

Arie is not having it, having previously told Becca he loved her.

This propelled the series into unsafe territory.

To survive on The Bachelor, each woman has to be able to handle awkward situations that are thrown their way. Along the way there have been highs and lows - and then there was Krystal, one of the most controversial bachelorettes of the group.

And while it also makes for good TV - and ratings - it will surely become a roadblock on the road to the altar for the winning couple. He admits that they're the most stable relationship left standing - so stable that they talk about moving in together after the show is over. "That's when I knew he didn't have any interest to get to know me on a deeper level based on what someone had said to him about me, and the judgment he made because of it".

Now, flash forward to Arie, who is embarking down the same treacherous path. Will Arie break Becca's heart? During the annual Fantasy Suite week, Arie's three finalists all chose to take advantage of an overnight date without the cameras.

Next up is Lauren's one-on-one. Becca says she loves and Arie says he loves her and, hoo boy, who suggested that Arie tell all three women he loved them? And if he really was in Peru to get Becca back, why stop at Arie's room first? Just like Ben, he told two women he loved them before the final rose ceremony.

This season has had its fill of insane women and dramatic moments but it is quickly coming down to the final rose. "I feel like maybe I dragged it on way longer than I should have".

After all, Luyendyk quite possibly the most determined Bachelor ever to actually get his fairytale ending, and with that comes some pre-nuptial daydreaming, natch. Now, before we get into all the spoilers on what to expect for tonight's season 22 episode, this is your spoiler warning.

The next day on Tuesday there will be another one-hour "After the Final Rose" special.

And even though they show clips of Annaliese's "bumper auto trauma" from the demolition derby date earlier in the season, the contestant is nowhere to be found. The next Bachelorette will be revealed on Tuesday as well. It was definitely a dramatic episode, especially when Tia Booth was eliminated. It doesn't sound like he has proposed to her yet.

As the Deseret News reported in January, Mathias earned some internet attention for a scene in which "The Bachelor" contestants went on a hiking date. "He's 24, so seeing him happy and ready to take that next step in his life made me want that for myself".

The franchise success rate has always been a topic of discussion. Too bad. She'd be great on "Bachelor in Paradise". Many cite her unique personality and background compared to others on the show. What are the chances Arie's victor can move beyond his other public declaration of love - or that Arie indeed made the right choice in the end?
