After securing gold as part of Canada squad for the skating team event last week, the pair followed it up with another gold in ice dance.

They pair also have a team gold, won at PyeongChang last week.

Three more gold medals will be decided later in the day in the women's speedskating 3,000-meter relay, the men's 10-kilometer Nordic Combined and the biathlon mixed relay.

Ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir will be paying tribute to another Canadian legend, Gord Downie. "It was a special moment to come out last", she said.

"We're grateful for the legends that came before us, they really paved the way".

Following their Winter Olympics gold medal win, Virtue and Moir sat down with CBC to watch a montage of their 20-year career together on the ice.

The two competed in their first Olympics in 2014 in Sochi, placing ninth.

The duo said that they'll be skating to the Tragically Hip's "Long Time Running" at Sunday's gala skate, where Olympic figure skaters perform an unjudged routine for their fans.

American brother-and-sister team Maia and Alex Shibutani finished third to take home the bronze medal.

The U.S. had a scary moment in the second period when Donato and goalie Ryan Zapolski took nearly simultaneous blows to the head, but both were able to stay in the game. "That was the story we were telling, so I'm happy that you fell in love with that".

"Today we did something we never thought we could do".

Meanwhile, it was another Canada-France-U.S. finish in the women's freestyle half-pipe skiing, with Canadian Cassie Sharp taking gold, followed by France's Marie Martinod and Brita Sigourney of the United States.

Away from the ice rinks and ski slopes, the Olympics are dealing with a third doping case, with Slovenian ice hockey player Ziga Jeglic ordered to leave the Olympic Village within 24 hours, after testing positive for fenoterol, a drug that is created to open the airways to the lungs.

It's the second straight global tournament from which Jeglic has been suspended.

While Canadians are still trying to recover from the couple's spellbinding performance to music from Moulin Rouge, Tessa and Scott are basking in the glory of being the most-decorated figure skaters of all time.

The other two athletes who have tested positive for doping are Japanese short-track speedskater Kei Saito and Russian curler Alexander Krushelnitsky.
