Klopp preparing Van Dijk for frosty Southampton return

The Saints are improving and they could prove to be unsafe opponents for Jurgen Klopp's side who have looked very vulnerable at the back of late and do give their opponents chances to score goals.

There's no doubt Southampton will provide a hostile reception for Van Dijk and Liverpool, but Liverpool have the firepower to cause all sorts of problems, particularly with star man Salah still in top form. I have already took part in some marketing actions of the club and it has always been very nice to feel this affection of the young fans with me.

Firmino was signed from Hoffenheim in 2015 for £29m under former Reds manager Brendan Rodgers, and was originally known as an adaptive attacker who mostly played in the two or three positions behind a main striker.

The likes of Sadio Mané, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne have all made the move to Anfield in recent years, whilst Peter Crouch and Paul Jones swapped Southampton for Liverpool over a decade ago.

Lallana stepped up his comeback by playing in the Premier League 2 match against Tottenham, but was dismissed on the hour after reacting angrily to a challenge from Spurs' U-23 captain George Marsh.

"In every transfer window we hear a lot of speculation, but nothing concrete has come to me until now", he added.

'When we played football, we all did a few things we weren't proud of.

'We wanted him to have match time, ' said Klopp.

"It was a very public deal and the numbers, even if they are not 100 per cent, are okay so maybe they are really happy and they say: "Thank you for all the money we have now".

'I spoke to him about that, he's not happy about it, ' said Klopp. Now I know it, so we'll talk about it. But we are all human beings, we are influenced by circumstances. How can it be? It was a special story for him most of the time, really positive, and then not that positive at the end.

"It's how football fans are". So they will probably whistle.

Gini Wijnaldum is pushing for a recall but I think Klopp may go with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the England worldwide coming in alongside Jordan Henderson and Emre Can. Will it have influence?

Klopp said he has spoken to Lallana and revealed that the England global is available for selection at St. Mary's on Sunday despite his sending off in an under-23s match earlier this week.

The England worldwide was shown a straight red after grabbing Tottenham youngster George Marsh by the neck in a furious reaction to a challenge.
