"I don't know what would've happened to my ear", Colon said. Suddenly, he started seeing some smokes around the soon after that, the AirPods exploded. He further stated that "I don't know what would've happened to my ear". "You can see where it looks like there's flame damage".

Jason Colon was using Apple's high-end wireless AirPod earphones at the gym when they started to malfunction, sending smoke billowing out of the right Pod, according to outlet Channel 8 News.

An Apple spokeswoman told WFLA the company is investigating the incident and that it intends to reach out to Colon. The same thing had happened with Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.

These were caused by manufacturing issues, including poor welding at the battery manufacturer.

The tiny pieces of Apple AirPods fit into Jason Colon's hand.

Since there is a mystery behind the explosion of the AirPods, we are certainly not sure what could be the reason behind this explosion. As if exploding smartphones weren't unsafe enough, Apple's wireless AirPods have now joined their ranks.
