What are the specifications of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift?

Maruti Suzuki has made the public premiere and launched the third generation Swift at Auto Expo 2018. The 14th edition of the "Auto Expo - The Motor Show" 2018 opens for the public from tomorrow. The much-awaited all-new Swift ranges between Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh in an ex-showroom price range.

The new Swift comes with more wider space and cabin space, with a longer wheelbase, more headspace and luggage space than the outgoing generation.

It also showcased its electric vehicle concept SUV "e-SURVIVOR" to demonstrate the company's efforts in the direction of electric mobility.

The auto is built on the new "Heartect" platform that makes it lighter and more rigid than the previous model. The exterior sees the major changes and it gets headlamps with projector lens and LED DRLs on the top trims while the diamond cut alloy wheels and LED taillights complete the look.

Powering the new Maruti Suzuki Swift are the same set of engines that powered the old model.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift retains the 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine or the 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel engine from its predecessor. It comes with dual-airbags and ABS as standard and even adheres to all the safety regulations that will come into effect in India soon.

The vehicle also complies with the comprehensive safety norms set to kick in this year and is available in petrol and diesel variants with the company's auto gear shift technology. A 5-speed manual transmission will be offered on both models the added option to go in for an auto gear shift (AGS) or an AMT unit. The new Swift competes against the Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and the Nissan Micra among others.

The interior of the Swift has driver-oriented cockpit design, with flat bottom steering, bolstered seats and urbane satin chrome finish.
