After one more near miss with snow on Tuesday we'll quiet down and maintain temperatures in the 30s. Tonight's low in the metro area will drop to around 25. Look for the high temperatures Friday to be very early in the day, as we will likely see the temperatures hold steady or slowly fall through the 20s during the day. These snow showers could put down a quick inch if the wet roads don't limit accumulation. "Right now, we're still expecting a wintry mix likely - a mix of freezing rain and snow and maybe some sleet, as well, developing Saturday and lasting into a portion of Sunday".

The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids said lake-effect snow is expected during that time.

You'll of course need to bundle up out the door and expect more of the same this afternoon with highs only jumping into the teens and wind chills hovering in the single digits if not below zero all day long.

Monday - Partly sunny, with a high near 26. Highs will be around 20 both days.

Tonight, will be clear and quite cold with lows 5-15. Northwest wind around 5 miles per hour becoming calm in the evening.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain.

Tuesday, there is a 40 percent chance of snow with a high near 31, the weather service said. This rain won't amount to a whole lot - most will see a quarter of an inch of rain or less.

Friday - Rain changing to snow in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

As Arctic air continues to rush into the region, temperatures will actually tumble throughout Friday, and, by the time we get to sunset, they should be just around the 20-degree mark. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 17. The weather service put the chance of precipitation at 80 percent. Get the latest breaking headlines sent straight to your inbox.
