Major Nelson has revealed Microsoft's upcoming line-up of free Games With Gold for the month of February 2018.

Xbox players can begin downloading "Shadow Warrior" for free from february 1 to february 28.

Games with Gold is available to all Xbox Live Gold members, which can be redeemed from the Gold widget on the Xbox One home screen.

January also saw another six new games released earlier in the month, boosting the already-large list of available titles. This Xbox One game follows modern ninja mercenary Lo Wang as he fights through levels of demonic hordes to prevent the end of the world.

Two more Xbox 360 games have made their way to Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. A spin-off of the fan-favorite franchise, Assassin's Creed Chronicles India released in 2015 and was met with mixed reviews. It was rebooted for the console in 2013.

The first Shadow Warrior was given lukewarm scores and moderate feedback from gaming.

The second Xbox One title is Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India.

Split/Second is a unique racing game which puts players in a fictional reality TV show. This video game is normally priced at $9.99. At just $10 a month, it's a very good deal for Xbox One owners.

During the free game weekends, Bethesda will also offer a discount.

Games for Gold freebies are only available for subscribers. Unlike in the United Kingdom, the Xbox One is also well behind the PlayStation 4 in terms of sells on the Continent - so it's not like they're killing off their biggest seller.
