These plans continue to offer 500MB data per day along with free calls.

As mentioned earlier, all the plans cited above come along with the facility of unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, which will make them a serious prospect for customers considering Jio for their telecom needs.

Under the Republic Day offer, Jio's all existing 1GB per day packs will be increased to 1.5GB per day, while 1.5GB per day packs are now enhanced to 2GB per day. After the revision, Jio's prepaid recharge plans now offering 1.5 GB per day data will be offering 2GB per day data, added company sources.

On the competitive landscape Tarun said, "The competitive landscape has changed significantly in the past year, with the rise of brands such as Xiaomi, OPPO, VIVO in the smartphone segment and players such as Reliance Jio, Nokia HMD and iTel in the feature phone segment - all able to disrupt the market with high-quality and attractively-priced offerings".

"JioPhone users will enjoy free voice calls and unlimited data (1GB at high speed) for 28 days at a price of only Rs. 49". Previously, the plan offered 1GB daily data.

Indian mobile operator Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) has upgraded its tariff plans for the second time in two weeks, offering more data at the same price, The Economic Times reports.

Besides, the telco as part of its "Republic Day offer" will double the validity of Rs 98 pack to 28 days from the current 14 days from January 26 onwards, they said.

Airtel's Rs. 509 prepaid plan offers 91GBs of 3G/4G information with an everyday top of 1GB information for 91 days. To avail of the refund, one needs to recharge for a minimum Rs 1,500 a year. Now, after the revision, the plan will offer 1.5GB daily data with the same 84 days validity. The validity is 84 days. These plans are Plan 198, Plan 398, Plan 448 and Plan 498.

Clearly, if we look at the plans, Airtel is offering a tough fight to Jio.
