The fake news was announced on her Twitter yesterday evening.

Despite numerous reports on Friday that she had died under mysterious circumstances, former Big Brother contestant Rebekah Shelton is actually alive and well.

"We're sorry to inform everyone of the sad news that our wonderful and lovely Rebekah died unexpectedly on Wednesday night".

However, in a video rebuttal to reports of her death, Shelton said: "I've been through hell today because someone used my Twitter account to write that stupid status about me".

"This person can't accept that I am happy and finally overcame all of my problems and I am finally living my life happy. I'm on holiday... and I am not dead".

In 2016, she appeared on ITV's Judge Rinder show (similar to Judge Judy in the US), and talked about her transition. Friends and family of Rodrigo have been frantic this morning. She later said she had made a full recovery.

Shelton did not make clear whether she knew the person she claims hacked her account, or whether she would be pursuing legal action.

Of being abandoned after undergoing surgery, she said: "I wanted to kill myself, it was a nightmare". However, in a freakish turn of events, it turns out that the star is very much alive, and she's currently just on holiday right now.

Rebekah said she spent five days in intensive care and one month in hospital having her surgeries.

"I am the happiest I've ever been in myself, but I lost so much along the way", she told OK! magazine at the time.

Rebekah started her transition in 2012 and underwent gender reassignment surgery two years later. I'm so sorry. I remember watching her on Big Brother a few years ago and I loved her personality.

She hit the headlines for an on/off relationship with co-star Charlie Drummond in the Big Brother house.
