EPL: Mane speaks on alleged fight with Salah

Egyptian football star and Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been awarded the African Player of the Year price after achieving success after success during 2017 with Egypt's national team and the Reds.

He was alongside his Liverpool teammate, Senegal's Sadio Mane and Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He also starred for resurgent Egypt, who previous year finished runners-up to Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations and secured a first World Cup appearance since 1990.

With Liverpool, he has scored as many as 17 goals in 21 league games and 23 in 29 in all competitions. I had a fantastic time, especially with the national team where we qualified to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years. "I want to tell them never to stop believing and dreaming".

While the attacker was ruled out of the Merseyside derby in the FA Cup third round as he collected his award in Ghana's capital Accra, Salah was still all smiles with his prize on a flight back to England.

Mohamed Salah has set his sights on becoming the best Egyptian player in history.

Mane has failed to match the performances he showed last season.

Salah was awarded the EA Sports Player of the Month award in November.

The National team of the year was Egypt having finished second at the 2017 AFCON and qualifying to the biggest football competition in the World and South Africa U20 women's team was named the National Women's team of the year.

"When a footballer aims for excellence, they must rise to the highest standards, irrespective of where they play".
