Alongside the Rs 199 tariff plan revision, Vodafone also introduced another FRC plan of Rs 229, which offers similar benefits as the Rs 199 plan, but valid only for new Vodafone customers. This plan clearly is an attempt by Vodafone to compete with Jio, which still is ahead in terms of the offerings for the same money. Once you cross the 2GB FUP limit, the speeds will be capped at 128Kbps, just like the Jio 199 plan.

The validity of this prepaid recharge plan is 28 days.

To recall - Reliance Jio recently launched two new plans under the Happy New Year Offer 2018. The Rs 199 recharge plan will give users 1.2 GB daily data for a period of 28 days coupled with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS free per day. Both plans come with a validity of 28 days and are one of the cheapest in the category. The pack also offers 100 free SMS per day. But Vodafone falls short of Reliance Jio though as the new entrant is offering 1.2GB data per day for the same price. With Reliance Jio, all calls are on 4G VoLTE network and this is a 4G only network.

On comparing the Jio and Airtel's plan, we see that the former offers more data than the latter. India' second largest telecom operator, Vodafone has yet again revised the Rs 199 plan to match the current benefits offered by rival telecom operators such as Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Idea Cellular. Subscribers can use 2GB 4G data per day under this offer. As a part of this offer, customers will get advantage of unlimited local and STD calls even while roaming in India. Under this prepaid recharge plan, Jio offers 1 GB of high speed data per day for the validity period.

Airtel has a Rs 199 plan that gives 1GB of 3G/4G data per day for 28 days. Jio's Rs. 499 includes unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, SMS benefits across all operators during the 91-day validity period.
