You can now follow hashtags on Instagram

The latest update for its platform radically transforms the app's primary feed. Ogle wants to bring the same touch to Instagram's hashtags.

Previously, Instagram would only let you search for a particular hashtag under the Explore tab or click on one in a post to see other pictures and videos using it.

All you have to do to get started is search up a hashtag as you normally would, and you'll be given the option to 'follow'. Users could begin by finding a topic they like or click on a hashtag included in any post, which would lead to a page with a collection of its relevant images. Stories from these hashtags will even show up on the top of your Instagram feed just like regular Stories from the people you follow. It's one of the Instagram features that were leaked a few weeks ago.

By the way, if you're on the hunt for some travel inspiration, you can also do this with location pages. It doesn't look like there's a way to turn this off, though if your profile is set to private, then only your followers will be able to see the hashtags you follow. As someone who doesn't follow a lot of users on Instagram, my feed is usually quite-for lack of a better word-boring, and I sometimes have to wait hours to see a new post on my feed.
