But now the streaming giant has reminded us that there's even more awesomeness to come next year, and they've done so with this brand new trailer for Jessica Jones season 2. There are so many wonderful things coming out of the comic book world, with new projects seemingly announced every day, so this is just a quick rundown of the five things that excite my inner fanboy. Jessica Jones officially returns on March 8th (a Thursday, this time!). It has also been announced that the second season will debut on March 8, 2018 with thirteen new episodes.

In the picture below, we Krysten Ritter's Jones right next Killgrave, played by acclaimed actor David Tennant.

Though we just saw Jessica this past summer in The Defenders, fans are yearning for more of the sarcastic PI.

I think Jessica is in a pretty dark headspace when we meet her at the top of season 2. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

Since the first season of Jessica Jones ended up winning a Peabody Award, the anticipation is high to see what Marvel will deliver for her second season. "It's still a psychological thriller, but it's more of an emotional thriller this time". Then again, Jessica mentions Killgrave dying before in the first season, yet he somehow came back.

"Well, as always, our show is very much about Jessica and her internal life and her struggle, and he's such a part of her construction and her dilemma", showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told EW. It's a narrative that feels particularly timely now, more than ever, due to the sexual abuse pandemic that has seemingly engrossed the entire entertainment industry in recent months.

Season 1 was a terrific launch for the character and still marks the most compelling story from beginning to end of a Marvel Netflix thus. The series also stars Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Janet McTeer, and J.R. Ramirez. Are you excited for Jessica Jones' second season?
