The announcement comes just two months after Ball made a decision to pull his other son, LaMelo, out of Chino Hills High School.

LiAngelo, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo, was arrested in China in November along with two other teammates for shoplifting, and as a result has been suspended indefinitely by the school since Nov. 15.

"We are exploring other options with 'gelo", LaVar Ball told ESPN.

While TMZ has reported that LiAngelo is not yet officially withdrawn from the school, the basketball player is reportedly remaining home and will not be going back to the school.

"I haven't told any of those guys,"Lavar told ESPN".

I guess we'll have to see what's in store for LiAngelo now, because it's hard to envision any school wanting him to play basketball there.

It appears LiAngelo Ball will not return to the UCLA men's basketball team. "If I was going to thank somebody I'd probably thank President Xi (Jinping)", LaVar Ball said to CNN's Chris Cuomo.

Alford said last week that he and his staff were communicating with the players via text messages and calls, mostly to see if they are attending classes.

Video posted online recently showed Ball playing a pickup game against LaMelo.

After a quiet couple of weeks in Westwood, the maneuver by LaVar Ball brings the latest round of publicity and counterblast to him and his family. Ball minimized Trump's involvement in winning the players' release and Trump tweeted in response that he should have left the players in China in jail.
