Thor Meets the Guardians of the Galaxy in 'Avengers: Infinity War' Trailer

Only a few weeks after DC united six of its biggest crime-fighters in "Justice League", Marvel has struck back by releasing the trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War", featuring more than 20 superhuman characters, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), all of whom have headlined their own stand-alone films. Avengers: Infinity War will mark the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe story to date with the fractured team of superheroes reuniting to thwart the ruthless Thanos.

The Avengers and other Marvel heroes witness the arrival of the evil Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his creatures as he continues collecting the final Infinity Stones which he places into his Infinity Gauntlet, assuring his ultimate power.

We know that Infinity War will pull together all the Marvel superheros as they are forced to unite and do battle against supervillain Thanos as he gathers all the Infinity Stones to destroy earth and beyond.

Several rumoured stars appeared to be confirmed by the new Vanity Fair shoot, although it's not entirely clear whether they'll be in Infinity War or Avengers 4.

The two-minute trailer brought together almost every superhero seen in the Disney-Marvel universe, including favorites such as Captain America (Chris Evans), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). His "Avengers" picture is now the fifth highest-grossing movie worldwide, with $1.5 billion, while the 2015 sequel, "Avengers: Age Ultron", follows in seventh place, grossing $1.4 billion worldwide.
