"We have so many games at the moment, and I prefer to focus on the team's matches, my own performances, and there will be time enough towards the end of the season to have talks".

Courtois' contract expires in 2019 and in a little over twelve months time, the Belgium worldwide is free to talk to overseas clubs. Talks, the Belgium worldwide said, will not recommence until the end of the season.

Courtois has spoken glowingly of his time in Madrid after spending time on loan with Atletico, and a transfer to their city rivals Real has never been ruled out.

"Regarding my contract, that's something where Chelsea must deal with my agent".

The 25-year-old told reporters ahead of Chelsea's next Champions League outing against Qarabag: "The thing for me, the most important thing, is to perform well for myself and the team".

Real have also pursued Manchester United "keeper David de Gea in the past, but Courtois" recent admission may spark Zinedine Zidane's side into action, though the former Atletico star is not planning to sort out his future until the summer.

The Belgian goalkeeper has confirmed that there have been no new developments over his contract with Chelsea and he is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer.

According to HLN, Courtois is aware that Real Madrid want to sign him, and the stopper will therefore demand a salary hike in order to become one of the best-paid goalkeepers in the world.

However, new reports from Mirror suggest that Chelsea's failure to tie Courtois to a new deal has suddenly forced the Spanish heavyweights to turn their sights to the Stamford Bridge outfit.
