President Donald Trump took his criticism of Hillary Clinton to new heights on Saturday after she once again questioned the legitimacy of the 2016 election.

In an early morning tweet, the president taunted Clinton, apparently in reference to an interview with her published on the liberal news website Mother Jones a year after her she lost the race for president while winning the popular vote. "Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!" the president posted to Twitter.

In the tweet Trump mocks Hillary for her stubbornness after being defeated in the 2016 elections and boasts that it will also help his party.

Clinton has said she will not run for office again.

She adds: "I think that we should just leave that behind us and whoever they want to blame for anything, they're going to have to find somebody else". Clinton discussed topics such as voter suppression, Russian interference in the election and the election's overall legitimacy.

In her interview, she went further - and said those factors cost her the election.

In the interview, Hillary had pointed towards the Russian meddling and the outcome it had in the United States elections.

She positions herself as extremely anxious about the integrity of future elections, given what she believes happened to her, but would Clinton be so concerned with voter suppression and "weaponized misinformation" if she had won last November?

Trump has often attacked "crooked Hillary" in interviews and on Twitter, criticizing her for numerous issues, including her election loss and ties between her and the Clinton Foundation to the sale of US uranium to Russian Federation while serving as secretary of State.
