Steven Moffat, a runner on "Doctor Who" recently revealed that he has seen Jodie Whittaker's debut in the iconic title role, and hailed her first appearance as "brilliant".

They made the historic announcement earlier this year that the new Doctor Who will be a woman for the first time, played by Broadchurch actress Jodie Whittaker. However, there's going to be a little wait.

The BBC has unveiled the first official photo of Jodie Whittaker's version of The Doctor. But the truth of the matter is that this new Doctor's costume is wonderful, and entirely flawless for her character. Some will no doubt be hoping there'll be a Season 11 trailer after the Christmas Special, although that's unlikely considering the new season will only have been filming for a matter of weeks when the Christmas Special airs. We're always hungry for that first peek of how our new Doctor will look and if any past incarnations had some influence to the feel.

However, many fans on social media derisively compared the costume to the outfit worn a fictional character outside of the "Doctor Who" universe: Mork from Ork, played by Robin Williams on the classic sitcom "Mork and Mindy".

Whittaker will make her Doctor Who debut during the Doctor Who Christmas special on December 25. She's here and she's gonna rock it, so fans better start ordering their blue trousers now to get ready for cosplay costumes.

Doctor Who is a British science-fiction series centered around an alien known as the Time Lord who explores the universe in a time traveling police box, known as TARDIS.

It looks like JW's Doctor will adopt more of a free-spirited guise. It kind of reminds us of the Sixth Doctor's colorful ensemble, but this is a lot easier to look at.

Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill will also appear in the new series, which will air in 2018.
