"I'm really looking forward to meeting the supporters and being in the stadium with them", Moyes said in comments published on West Ham's Twitter feed.

Fanatik report Fenerbahce are interested in the former West Ham manager if they look to replace current coach Aykut Kocaman.

"I feel very exhausted and want to take a break from football management".

"At the moment they should be in a better position than they are, and I believe they will be come the end of the season".

Bilic would be a popular figure to replace Kocaman, but It's now unknown whether he would want another hard challenge after his experience at West Ham.

Moyes enjoyed a successful 11-year reign as Everton manager, a spell that earned him the job as Alex Ferguson's replacement at Manchester United.

He added: "We've done a contract which suits both parties, we are all comfortable with it. Let's get the job done and then talk at the end of the year".

Moyes was sacked less than a season into a six-year contract and is still searching for the chance to rebuild his reputation.

"We believe David is the right man to turn things around and get the best out of the players at the club", joint chairman David Sullivan said.

The idea that West Ham have been approaching the big names in football management suggests Bilic had been on borrowed time for some while, however, he was shown the exit after their embarrassing 4-1 defeat at home to Liverpool on Saturday evening.

But Moyes, whose first game in charge will be at Watford a week on Sunday following the global break, urged them to get behind him and his squad.

"I hope West Ham fans are going to see a team that is organised and disciplined", he told West Ham's official website.
