One killed, two injured during Starbucks shooting

One man died at the scene, while a 12-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was taken to an area hospital. Marc Buslik, adding that Watkins and a 24-year-old man who wounded by gunfire were involved in the drug deal.

According NBC Chicago, three victims were shot near a Starbucks in Chicago in the 4700 block of North Broadway Street.

Police believe the shooting occurred following a drug deal involving the shooter and Watkins.

Two men were killed and three others were wounded in separate shootings on Thursday, including an attack at an Uptown Starbucks that injured a 12-year-old boy, Chicago police said. He said the suspect fled southbound on Broadway. The gunman followed and began firing, killing the man wounding the other man and boy. "We were outside and heard two shots, then a pause, and I grabbed my wife and kind of pushed her down and said 'Shots!' And then there were three more nearly within a few seconds", said Mike Swaiko, who was across the street at the time of the shooting. "They were in the east section, or what you might consider to be the back of the Starbucks", Buslik said.

Starbucks spokesman Reggie Borges said the company was "dismayed" by the shooting. "We hope to provide updates as soon as we learn more".

Kendra Nance said she was walking by the coffee shop with her boyfriend when they heard gunshots. I seen blood everywhere ...
