Mann said it found a single positive result for listeria in one of the products during random sampling by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued the recall out of an "abundance of caution".

Albertsons, Randalls, Tom Thumb stores in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas are among the stores voluntarily recalling Ready. There have been no illnesses reported due to products shipped by Mann Packing. If you suspect that your product may be contaminated, you can check the Food and Drug Administration's full report, which has brand names, descriptions, and UPC codes.

The products were shipped to multiple stores in Canada and the USA, including Walmart and Trader Joe's.

According to the CDC, symptoms of listeria infection include fever, diarrhea, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, muscle aches and convulsions, and symptoms typically appear within one to four weeks after exposure.

"As an owner of this company and a mom, providing safe and healthy foods to our consumers and their families is always our top priority", said Gina Nucci, director of corporate marketing. Affected products have a best by date that reads anywhere between October 11th and 20th.

About 1,600 people become infected with listeria each year, and about 260 die, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "This voluntary recall is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our consumers". A listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

In response, Meijer has recalled several dozen products, including broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus, that were sold in six states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

All products should be either tossed out or returned where they were bought for refund.
