Last week, it was reported that Amazon Studios president Roy Price had made sexually harassing comments to one of the studio's showrunners.

Variety initially reported that Price would be replaced temporarily by Amazon Studios COO, Albert Cheng after allegations of sexual harassment.

Hackett did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An Amazon executive confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that Price resigned Wednesday. That report did not contain the details that appeared in THR.

In light of Price's suspension, Amazon chose to cancel an event promoting its new shows in London this week.

In a series of Twitter posts last week, McGowan claimed she told Price "over and over" about the alleged rape, only to be informed it "hadn't been proven". Amazon Studios has since grown into an original TV show and film studio.

McGowan also claimed that she had sold a script to Amazon and had a project in development when she got wind of a "Weinstein bailout".

Hackett, daughter of the late science fiction writer and "High Castle" author Philip K. Dick, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Price repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances toward her after a dinner two years ago during Comic-Con in San Diego.

In another development on Tuesday, Harvey Weinstein resigned from the board of the Weinstein Co., which is struggling to stay afloat.
