Known for playing cinema's most famous boxer, Sylvester Stallone announced yesterday that he would direct the next spin-off from the Rocky saga.

There are no further details on Creed 2 presently, but we'll keep you posted as news trickles in.

Stallone has announced that he will be directing, producing and starring in the highly anticipated film Creed 2, starring Michael B. Jordan.

Rocky himself will return to the director's chair for the followup to 2015's Creed. Another photo on Instagram showed him and Jordan training with the caption, "Getting stronger!"

Directed and co-written by Ryan Coogler, the 2015 original served as both a spinoff and sequel to Stallone's Rocky films, but focused on Adonis Johnson Creed (Johnson), the son of the late Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).

As much as we love the original Rocky films, they had some silly moments (like the robot butler in Rocky IV) that should probably be avoided in Creed 2 and any potential sequels. This is the sure fire way to go from oscar nominated to razzie winning.

Coogler's Creed grossed a worldwide total of $173.6 million, against a budget of $35 million.

He has since teased the return of Ivan Drago, Rocky's Russian competitor in Rocky IV.

It looks as though Sylvester Stallone and his character Rocky Balboa are back for one more round. Post-"Creed", he's signed on to direct Marvel's first black superhero movie "Black Panther" which reunites him with Jordan.
