The controversial adopted daughter of Rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan is finally nabbed by the Haryana Police on Tuesday.

The officer said the priority was to question Honeypreet in connection with the violence which took place after Ram Rahim's conviction on August 25.

According to the Police Commissioner, Panchkula, Honeypreet Insan and her another woman associate were rounded up from Zirakpur-Patiala road by the Haryana Police.

CHANDIGARH, Punjab-36 years old Priyanka Taneja, alias Honeypreet Insan, foster daughter of Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, has surrendered before the Punjab police after giving an Interview to the mainstream channel Aaj Tak.

Ram Rahim is now lodged at the Suneria jail in Rohtak and will stay there for 20 years for raping two sadhvis. Speaking to the News 24 channel, she said: "When Papa went away (was jailed), my world came crashing down".

For 38 days, Honeypreet easily managed to dupe the police of three states. How am I guilty? What proof have these people got to level such allegations.

An arrest warrant was issued against Honeypreet and two key Dera functionaries - Aditya and Pawan Insan, after the Haryana Police moved an application in Panchkula court.

Honeypreet also explained why she did not go to the police. "Later, so many things were said about how I accompanied him", she said. To another question, Honeypreet said she had met her lawyer in Delhi.

Ram Rahim's "favourite angel" has denied allegations of instigating violence that was triggered after the conviction order was passed. Calling the Indian guru "Papa", she claimed he is innocent of the charges and felt "devasted" over the claims of inciting the riots.

She will face charges of sedition, thought to have made speeches inciting the riots following Baba Ram Rahim Singh's conviction. "I was not present there at all", she said. "Please don't trust these baseless allegations", Honeypreet said.

"I have full faith in the judiciary, I will approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court", she said.
