GGG has to rely more on his power than his boxing skills as well.

If Golovkin gets to rattle Alvarez with his punching power, however, he can not expect the Mexican to just fold up and be a stationary target because Alvarez has good ring movement and knows how to bob and weave. The Kazakh worked the head and the body with sharp bursts, putting on a clinic in stopping his dance partner in the eighth round with Steve Willies jumping in confirming the TKO.

"This is similar and much bigger than my fight against Mayweather", Alvarez told Sporting News. Alvarez is the younger fighter by eight years, while 35-year-old Golovkin has a small height advantage over his Mexican counterpart which is negated by the fact that Canelo holds a slight advantage in reach.

According to CBS Sports, "Saturday's fight represents something far more important to the sport than any carnival sideshow can provide (no matter how entertaining or lucrative said fight turned out to be)".

Here's a look at where the money is going from Vegas bookmakers, along with opinions from boxing experts, trainers and my pick for the fight.

But Golovkin was up at Big Bear Lake in camp and did not leave even when he got a call to say his wife was heading to hospital. I'm just more focused.

"I always prepare myself to give the best".

Golovkin will face his toughest test yet.

The crowd in attendance was heavily pro Canelo, many being Mexican fight fans there to support their countryman. "We have been talking about this fight for three years".

As Canelo has not been in with anyone the same size or strength as Golovkin, I think that power will be the deciding factor in this fight. In fact, one can argue that the delay has only made it feel like a bigger event, allowing Alvarez's elite skill set at age 27 to catch up with his enormous popularity. Alvarez, whose only loss was at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr., is coming off a lopsided win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last month in Las Vegas. But let's not underscore the importance of what Alvarez-Golovkin could mean to the future. I prepared myself for the knockout.

"It's very interesting for me".
