It comes in new Gold color and new Nike models and bands for the new watch.

Apple CEO Jeff Williams took to the stage to talk about WatchOS 4, Apple Watch's latest operating system that was unveiled in June. The addition of Global Positioning System (GPS) and waterproof capabilities introduced with last year's Apple Watch Series 2 has the company on track to boost sales almost 25% this year. It will be available from September 22 and the pre-orders for the watch will start from September 15. The watch can make and receive calls, allowing you to leave your phone at home.

At its annual event on Tuesday to unveil its latest hardware products, Apple launched its third-generation Apple Watch - the first one with cellular built-in. Apple also announced the Apple Heart Study, which uses data from Apple Watch and can notify users.

Apple shares rose 1.1% to $163.30 after the company discussed the Watch.

The watch's antenna is built into the screen, and it uses a smaller electronic SIM card rather than a standard SIM. The Watch will connect to the current phone number used with an iPhone. The company announced a new Apple TV with 4K capabilities that can stream ultra-high definition video to compatible televisions with more than 8 million pixels per frame - significantly sharper than traditional high-definition video. The smartwatch features a 70 percent faster dual-core processor.

If you are wondering about the case size, it will stay the same and the battery will remain at 18 hours. Samsung pioneered the feature and recently told CNET that half of the watches it sells in the U.S. have LTE modems. Apple said the new smartwatch offers several improvements including cellular connectivity and applications to help detect health problems such as heart arrhythmia.

The wearables market has seen some ups and downs over the years and it is predicted by Gartner that 2017 looks positive with Apple leading the way.

The $399 Series 3 version comes with cellular, and it'll run you $329 without cellular, though $299 versions will also be available.
