On loan from Bayern Munich, the Portuguese global struggled to make an impression in Carlo Ancelotti's side last season, but his talents are rated by many and Paul Clement, among several European suitors, were eager to snap him up.

Jose Mourinho has publicly noted that he would have fought to sign Sanches and perhaps his loan spell in the Premier League will serve as a ideal opportunity to inspect his talent from close before making a bid.

Bony scored 34 goals wearing the Swans jersey, but at City, he only scored 13 times and found his opportunities limited - spending last season on loan at Stoke City where he also struggled for minutes.

Swansea manager Paul Clement has admitted that his strong relationships with his former clubs have helped make his summer transfer window a more successful one after capturing the likes of Tammy Abraham and Renato Sanches on loan.

"I think my boys decided", Bony said.

On returning to Swansea, Bony said he is excited.

"I am just focused on the pitch and for Sunday's game".

"I think Renato Sanches is a great signing for Swansea and I will be very interested to see how he gets on in the Premier League", said Lawrenson.

Clement has, however, been given some good news about who he can select for their fixture with Newcastle, after Jordan Ayew was cleared to be involved. They heard about the move and said they wanted to go back to Swansea.

'There are no guarantees Renato has to play - and Bayern are of the same view, ' Clement said.

"Not only me but the team as well - that is the most important thing".

Paul Clement's side defeated Crystal Palace away from home a couple of weeks ago, and the manager will be hoping The Swans will be able to take an advantage of The Magpies' poor start to their Premier League campaign.
