Chelsea complete Davide Zappacosta transfer from Torino

Zappacosta, who's been capped by Italy, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old is a right wing-back and will provide competition for Victor Moses.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Italy global full-back Davide Zappacosta from Torino for a fee of around £23m.

The 25-year-old Italy global left Rome's Ciampino airport on a private flight for London to undergo a medical early on Thursday.

However, Torino insisted Chelsea would need to pay a staggering £92m to trigger the strikers release clause, which was seemingly not in the Blues' plans to do so.

However, they announced the signing shortly afterwards, with the player telling the club's official website: 'It is a dream for me to join Chelsea and play in the Premier League.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has been chasing a new right wing-back all summer and he nearly landed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Antonio Conte could yet add Danny Drinkwater to his squad as well.

Now the champions are hoping to repeat the trick with right-sided wing-back Davide Zappacosta. I am very excited to be here and start working with the team.

Zappacosta, 25, only joined Torino from Atalanta two years ago and has done enough to catch Conte's eye.
