Harvey is the strongest hurricane to hit Texas in decades, killing at least two, flooding thousands of homes and causing damage reminiscent to that of Katrina 12 years ago, with FEMA administrator Brock Long telling CNN the agency is "gearing up for the next couple years".

'Serious moment right now, I've just been caught up to speed with everything that's going on in Houston and this s*** is unbelievable, ' Hart states in the video.

Comedian Kevin Hart asked his famous friends with ample financial means to join a donation daisy chain he began Sunday evening.

While only a few stars announced donations to flood relief efforts, many have used their massive social media followings to encourage people to give what they can.

After realizing how huge Hurricane Harvey's damage has been to the people in the Houston area, Kevin Hart took to Instagram for a honest plea for donations to the Red Cross. "Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we've all done 'em", the actor said in the clip.

'I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the internet.

Hart then challenged a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Chris rock, Justin Timberlake, Steve Harvey, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jay Z, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle.

Hart calls the situation on Texas' Gulf Coast and in Houston, where feet of rain have fallen and caused unsafe flooding, "a serious matter" where people need help.

The stars have yet to respond to the challenge, but on Sunday, Houston native Beyoncé posted a photo to Instagram. Hart proceeded to namedrop a handful of celebrities he wants to step up and donate. Singer Chris Young pledged $100,000 toward a $500,000 GoFundMe account benefiting the Red Cross.
