Sanchez staying a Gunner 'for at least another season'

Conte, whose side begin their Premier League title defence against Burnley on August 12, wants Chelsea to start the season with victory over Arsenal.

The Chilean worldwide returned to training at London Colney on Tuesday, two days late of his initial return due, but was permitted to return late as he had been struck with minor health problems.

Rest and recuperation for first team regulars will be important too, especially given Arsenal's frequent injury issues, particularly hamstring strains.

Arsene Wenger has been consistent with his stance, repeatedly stating that Alexis will be going nowhere this summer, and he appears to have the support of the Arsenal board on that. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho said he had no problem with the Neymar fee, but said that there would be consequences for PSG later.

"At Arsenal we're very much driven by our values, like giving young people a chance", he said.

"We know we have a duty to inform people but to talk about some things is not information anymore, it's suicide". Apart from that, we are not in a period anymore where you think "If I invest that, I will get that back". "That means which players stay or go".

"The price of a player depends on the identity of the buyer and you cannot put it on the context of the market". This passes quickly so enjoy every moment.

Sanchez is not the only player whose deal expires at the end of the campaign, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs also entering the final year of their respective contracts. Metro reports that the Foxes gaffer was asked about Mahrez at a press conference, and he explained that the Algerian winger definitely had his heart set on a new challenge but one in England and not overseas.

The 29-year-old has been frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities.

Manchester City were said to be ready to spend big on Sanchez, although Wenger decided against cashing in on the striker, who has since returned to training at London Colney.
