SNES Classic Edition pre-orders set for late August

Of course, we know that like the NES Classic Edition, when Nintendo is finished with the Super NES Classic Edition, they're really finished.

The SNES Classic Mini price is $79.99, and we'll likely see it made available at Amazon, GameStop and Walmart (naturally), along with other reputable retailers.

The system comes fully loaded with 21 games, Nintendo says. Nintendo is still dealing with stock shortages for the Switch, and if the SNES Classic proves to be as popular as the NES Classic was, there will likely be stock problems regardless of how many consoles it produces ahead of launch. September 29 has been penciled in as the SNES Classic Edition's launch date.

Nintendo began pre-orders in the United Kingdom weeks ago. Especially with Nintendo only shipping the SNES Classic until the end of 2017, it will surely keep the market rushing to buy the product, considering it would only be selling on the market for a limited amount of time.

It also mentioned in the Facebook post that "A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year". After all, the company is still struggling to meet the demand for its latest system: the Nintendo Switch.

That would be a significant boost, compared with last year's NES Classic, which proved immensely hard to get once the pre-order period was over.

So. uh. there you go.
