Former cricketer Ravi Shastri, who has been recently appointed as head coach of the Indian cricket team, on Wednesday insisted that coaches like him and Anil Kumble will come and go and that it is the team who should be credited for their exceedingly well performance in last three years. As soon as the news came out, screenshots of their statistics started pouring in as Team India fans were not happy with Shastri's propaganda, that too just days after his controversial appointment as Head Coach.

Kumble resigns as team India coach amidst reports of breakdown in relationship with team captain Virat Kohli. "We will get 6-7 days before the start of the series and I feel that's enough as the boys have good amount of Test cricket", Shastri said.

India-Sri Lanka series is about to begin on July 19th, so there's no way that Zaheer Khan and Dravid will join the team. Later, India thumped South Africa 3-0 in home Test series and reached semi-finals of 2015 World Cup and 2016 World T20. "His salary will be based on his availability", the official said while adding that the board had rejected Zaheer's 100-day demand for Rs 4 crore annually past year. He wants the BCCI to compensate him if it also means a pay cut. I don't carry any baggage. "I did not know about the conditions of Kumble's contract that it was one year". And I have matured immensely in the last two weeks. "Lot of things fly around which are not in my control". "I don't think changing of coaches will make much of a difference".

Kohli recollected his first Test series win as India captain in 2015 against Sri Lanka. And Shastri, in his typical flamboyant style, stressed upon the fact that the focus should be on the team and not the support staff and they need to be given the credit they deserve. We would want to continue the way we played the last time. "I don't think it will require any effort", said the India skipper ahead of the team's departure for Sri Lanka featuring three Tests, five ODIs and a T20I starting July 26. I did that because I take them along and also not give an opportunity to say that we took a decision behind their back and all that.

Tendulkar is part of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which picked Shastri as the coach. Regarding communication between players and support staff, Kohli said, "Understanding and communication apply on everything. I was very clear in my mind what my core team would be".
