Martin Golden (R-Brooklyn) - moved to direct the $4 million to the NYPD for windows and side door panels after Officer Miosotis Familia was gunned down in the Bronx last week, a Senate spokesman said.

Grieving NYPD officers, Bronx community members and family and friends of police officer Miosotis Familia gathered outside the 46th Precinct on Saturday night to remember the 48-year-old mother of three.

Hundreds of people have paid tribute to her during vigils since the shooting.

Familia was shot in the head last week when a gunman fired through the window of her mobile command unit.

"The assassination of Officer Familia is heartbreaking for the NYPD and all of New York City", said Malliotakis.

On Friday, Familia's oldest daughter, Genesis Villella, 20, released a statement, "She was incredibly amusing". Responding officers shot and killed the suspect, identified as 34-year-old parolee Alexander Bonds after he pulled a revolver on them during a chase, according to police. It occurred while the slain officer, a 12-year veteran with the NYPD, was in a command vehicle with her partner in the Bronx. Her funeral service will be held there Tuesday.

Victim benefit funds Answer the Call and Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation are taking donations for Familia's children. Familia was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died, Sgt. Brendan Ryan said.
