Finally, Sky Sports Main Event will offer centerpiece programming, while Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix complete the new offerings. "We're improving our service even further, super-serving existing customers and providing flexibility to a whole new generation of sports fans", he noted.

United Kingdom pay-TV broadcaster Sky Sports has confirmed details of its repackaged offer to viewers, bringing in a series of standalone single-sport channels in response to dramatic changes to consumption of television and live sport.

With a new look, a new schedule and brand new shows, the Sky Sports Golf channel has vowed to get fans even closer to the sport.

From 18th July, the numbered Sky Sports channels that have defined its linear offering since the 1994 launch of Sky Sports 2 will disappear, while its pricing structure will also change significantly in a move which reflects the pressures on traditional operators from changing viewer habits.

Viewers will enjoy a host of new programmes, including: a nightly Premier League debate show on Sky Sports Premier League, masterclasses and coaching clinics from some of the biggest names in sport including Shane Warne, Butch Harmon and Rob Key, live golf previews ahead of selected European and USA events, and a host of new documentaries.

The 10 channels will be available for £27.50, while viewers can now have access a solitary channel for just £18 a month.

But for BT TV customers the news is now less positive. So sports-are-go over at Sky.

NOW TV Sky Sports Passes will include the all new range of dedicated Sky Sports channels showcasing individual sports including Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Golf and two variety channels, Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena for all other sports.

Gidon Katz, Director of Now TV said: "We're delighted to be adding the all new Sky Sports channels to NOW TV, even more sporting action on the same flexible and affordable passes".

Given that all ten channels (in theory) cost £1.50 more than three individual choices, Sky will hope that the majority of its customers will continue to subscribe to its main package.

Sky Sports F1 - As before, every race, qualifying and practice will be covered in full here.
