The judge said he couldn't force her to accept counsel, but he recommended that she do so.

A smiling Isabel Martinez was told by a Gwinnett County judge to stop "playing to the camera" after WGCL reported that the 31-year-old knelt in front of the lenses and was warned to sit back in the bench.

When hearing her counts, Martinez shook her head and continued to smile at the camera.

The judge advised her sharply not to perform for the cameras. "It's really not a good idea, probably not to your benefit".

If she is eventually tried and convicted, Vandever says it's then up to the state and immigration to sort out what will happen to her. Please, you are the hope of the world, each and every one of you. "It doesn't matter what color you are because God loves us all".

No details concerning the murder or how Martinez came to turn against her family were readily available. Deon Washington said Thursday that Martinez is the "primary suspect", adding that investigators are "not searching for anyone else".

She was charged with six counts of felony aggravated assault and ten counts of murder. Police called the scene "horrendous".

According to neighbors, Martinez never showed any signs of being aggressive or violent toward her family.

The judge denied bond for Martinez, who is accused of multiple counts of malice murder. Police officers and firefighters responded and found Martin Romero and four children deceased, plus the injured Diana Romero, all suffering from apparent stab wounds.

That amounts to roughly one death every three days. But recently, he said, she became more temperamental after her father died in Mexico and she was unable to attend the funeral.

Police Cpl. Michele Pihera told reporters Thursday that Martinez was "quickly taken into custody", according to ABC affiliate WSB.

Cpl Pihera said the caller was speaking Spanish, which initially made it hard for 911 operators to communicate with her.

At one point, Martinez, 33, who is being held on an immigration hold, held her arms wide and bowed for the cameras. She remains in serious condition.

Her father and four siblings - 2-year-old Axel, 4-year-old Dillan, 7-year-old Dacota and 10-year-old Isabela Martinez - were already dead when police arrived at the family's mobile home on Emory Lane around 5 a.m. Thursday.
