'Destiny 2' Beta Content Includes Campaign, Strike and More

The PC beta is planned for August 2017.

Destiny 2's beta tests details were recently revealed by Bungie. The opening mission is titled Homecoming, the included Strike is "The Inverted Spire", and the two PvP modes are Control (featured in the first Destiny) and Countdown, a brand new mode for the sequel. That stings, but to lighten the pain, Bungie will be giving out special Destiny 2 emblems for those who participate.

The "Destiny 2" developer explained that both Control and Countdown will be made playable, but only on the new maps built. The new Hunter subclass can summon a staff of lightning to damage foes while the new Warlock subclass can wield a solar sword.

The studio, though, promised that Control will arrive at the beta phase with "some impactful changes".

Bungie said in the post that clan support is not part of the beta, while the way characters receive rewards and evolve is not indicative of the final product. In The Farm most of the vendors will be offline, the idea for the short opening hour is to test how many players can join at once. Progress can not be carried over the full game, but all those accessing the beta will still get something for their efforts, an exlusive emblem.

The Destiny 2 Open Beta starts on July 21, but you get in a little earlier if you pre-ordered.

Destiny 2 will be released September 6th on Xbox One and PS4, with PC to follow in October.

The full Destiny 2 Beta is only available for all the pre-order customers.
