Fire up your Fourth with these Independence Day events

Orient Yacht Club (2110 Village Lane, Orient) is presenting its Fireworks event on Sunday, July 2 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Red, White and Blue Ash - Celebrate Independence Day in the northern suburb of Blue Ash with free entertainment starting at 4pm and Rozzi's Famous Fireworks at 10 p.m.

The Leander Liberty Fest promises great food, cool vendors, live music from the Josh Abbott Band, and an awesome fireworks display. Enjoy local food trucks and bakeries, craft beverages and wine slushies, 5 live bands, and a fireworks finale. Pony rides, a petting zoo, a bounce house, magic, food, music, and so much fun to be had.

July 4 falls on a Tuesday this year, and for some, that means a four-day weekend topped off with fireworks ... several days of fireworks. The park will be open for normal operating hours and fees, but beginning at 5 p.m., the normal entrance fees will switch to $15 per vehicle. 768-4210 or www.milb.com.

Rider University will host the fireworks in Lawrence on Friday, June 30. Residents are encouraged to come to the Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center at 4301 Willow Lane at 11:30 a.m.to decorate bikes, scooters, wagons and baby carriages before participating in the parade around the town.

History Day Tours. Tours at 11 a.m. through 3 p.m.at Sully Historic Site, 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly.

Arlington Independence Day. 5-10 p.m.at the Long Bridge Park, 475 Long Bridge Drive, Arlington.

The study looked at Fourth of July celebrations, affordability, attractions and activities, safety and accessibility, and the weather. In the event of rain, the fireworks show will be moved to July 4.

The parade, which travels down Oakton Street and ends at Oakton Park, is usually one of the top attended single-day events in the village every year, according to officials. Registration and packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. Cost for the mile is $20 and $15 for the PeeWee Dash and Junior Jog.

Picnic in the Park (Batavia, NY) - The 39th annual Picnic in the Park will feature British Mania, a Kiddie Parade, children's activities, food vendors and an artisan alley.
