Sue Hodgkinson spoke to reporters Thursday outside her IL home.

The list on James Hodgkinson's notepad had the names of three GOP congressmen who are all members of the House Freedom Caucus - Reps. "I also want to thank the Capitol Police for their heroic actions to prevent further harm".

Just after 7 a.m. gunman James Hodgkinson opened fire on the field at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park with a rifle, just miles from the Capitol building, hitting Scalise who stood near second base. Bernie Sanders's presidential campaign shot four people Wednesday morning, including Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), who remains in critical condition. But he said he was a passionate person who occasionally got into fights.

As Duncan was leaving he came upon Hodgkinson in the parking lot and said Hodgkinson asked "if the players on the field were Republicans or Democrats". She said she hasn't been with her husband since March, when he moved to the Washington D.C. area.

While no motive has been established for the attack, authorities are considering Hodgkinson's political beliefs as a possible driver, according to the Post. Sen.

Orear mentioned that while Hodgkinson had been a passionate progressive, there was no sign of violence or malice towards anyone, reports the Washington Post.

Hospital officials said a bullet fractured Scalise's bones and damaged internal organs.

Texas Rep. Roger Williams said one of his aides, Zack Barth, was shot but was doing well and expected to recover fully.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Thursday urged prayers for Scalise and the other victims of the shooting. "We had policemen and even the Federal Bureau of Investigation in here asking questions, but we just don't know him".

Franks was not on the team, adding uncertainty about the significance of the list of names. He was undergoing surgery at a hospital and was in stable condition.

During his visit, Trump also met with Capitol Police special agent Crystal Griner, who was shot while returning gunfire during the attack. President Trump said we should unite on this, and he's right. He updated his followers on the social media platform that Scalise is in tough shape but continues to be a real fighter. "Pray for Steve!" Trump wrote on Twitter.

"I know he wasn't happy with the way things were going, the election results and stuff", the shooter's brother told the newspaper.

Hodgkinson was a member of many anti-Republican groups on Facebook, including "The Road to Hell Is Paved With Republicans", "Terminate The Republican Party", and "Donald Trump is not my President", his profile showed before it was taken down.
